Splint of periodontics

Prevent movement of the teeth after periodontal treatment.

Buccal apparatus consists of a plastic that is placed in one of the dental arches to avoid coming into contact with some teeth to bring the jaw joints to a position where proper biting on it or to "forget" mandibular positions inadequate and incorrect when the teeth are kept tight, or to avoid the wear of the teeth (bruxism), as the plastic plate is soft, wearing these.
What is a dental splint?


Dental splints are manufactured by a dental technician from plastics or acrylic resins, which cover all or parts of the dental arches. Different splints may have different purposes, thus depending on the objective that one seeks to use different types of dental splints:

Whitening splint

Remain on the surface of a tooth bleaching agent.

Splint keeping orthodontics

Impede the movement of the teeth after orthodontic treatment.

Surgical splint

Impede the movement of the teeth after surgical treatment.

Mouth Protectors

They protect the teeth during the practice of certain physical exercises such as various sports: boxing, basketball, etc..
